Is Revisionism in America?

What is meant by the word revisionism?  It’s not a word that you use in your everyday vocabulary; but the practice of it can ultimately change the thoughts of people and a nation. Here is an explanation of the word revisionism, the dictionary defines revisionism as an “advocacy of the revision of an accepted, usually long-standing view, theory, or doctrine; especially a revision of historical events and movements.” Revisionism attempts to alter the way a people view its own history and traditions.

A case in point, from November 1938 till April 1945 the state sponsored
persecution and murder of six million Jews took place under the Nazi Party in Germany called the Holocaust.  We have documentation that it took place, and pictures that show it took place.  Even black and white film of mass graves and shootings of Jewish people in cold blood that show it took place. There is even a living memorial museum in New York City to those who perished during the Holocaust.

But today we have some (a very small number) teaching in schools and
around the world that the Holocaust never happened.  They claim it is a story concocted by the Jews to advance their interest at the expense of others.  That is the greatest example of revisionism that I can think about that shows just how misguided it can be.

Another case in point concerning revisionism is the abortion issue. The African American community as a whole in its early conception in America always respected the life of the unborn. The importance of family was inbred in them because of the pain of slavery and oppression. But revisionism reared its ugly head from a woman by the name of Margret Sanger, founder of the current organization Planned Parenthood. In 1939 Sanger helped initiate the Negro Project. Her evil goal was to exterminate the Negro population.

She approached the ministers in the south and started selling them a lie, making the killing of babies look like it was a good thing to help promote people’s welfare. Here is a quote from her;

“The most successful educational approach to the Negro is through a religious appeal. We don’t want the word to get out that we want to exterminate the Negro population, and the minister is the man who can straighten out that idea if it ever occurs to any of their more rebellious members”

Sad to say many ministers fell for her lies thus we have the problems of our day with abortion especially in the black community. New York City now has recorded more abortions than actual births in the black community. Coming full circle to just 5 days ago, Alabama State Representative John Rogers, Democrat said, “Some kids are unwanted, so you kill them now or kill them later.” To me that is a clear sign of revisionism altering the history and traditions of a people!

The more I thought about this I began to see even a more dangerous case of revisionism taking place!

The scary part of the whole thing is we have revisionism coming from our pulpits in America on Sunday mornings.

No longer are we preaching holiness, turning away from sins, preaching on hell and speaking the truth in love from a majority of pulpits across America.

Those preaching revisionism theology are saying just come on in and be comfortable; God’s grace covers it all so live any kind of way you want to live, we are all just one big happy family and everyone is going to heaven (just make sure you give your money when the offering plate is passed around).  The true gospel of Jesus Christ has never been designed to make people feel comfortable. It’s designed to challenge and push you to become better and more like Jesus. Here are the words straight from the Word of God:

Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor [a]homosexuals, nor sodomites, 10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. I Corinthians 6:9 – 10 (NKJV)

If you are attending a church like that my advice is to put on your tennis shoes and run as fast as you can from there.  Father God has not changed His message, read the Word and live in freedom!
